Woolworths Confirms that ‘Discovery Garden’ Collectables will be available when you shop THIS September.

Since the collectable craze started a few years ago with Little Shops (or mini-shops as my kids call them), Brisbane families have been eagerly collecting, swapping and playing with whichever little toys the kids have been collecting. Discovery Garden is set to be a game-changer…

But we know that the use of plastic has been weighing on some peoples minds. We haven’t been able to collect any this time as we have a little toddler in the house and the current collectables, little shops 2 and Lion King Ooshies, are perfect little choking hazards.

This new collection from Woolies, however? Its something we can really get behind (and that we have been secretly hoping for since they were brought to our attention ages ago, South Africa and New Zealand have had similar collectables before).

The promotion allows shoppers to earn free plants when they spend over a certain amount in store.

“Woolworths is excited to confirm that we will be launching Woolworths Discovery Garden in September, a new collectable designed to give Australians of all ages the opportunity to grow their very own fresh food,” a Woolworths spokesperson said.

“Woolworths Discovery Garden is based on the internationally successful ‘Little Garden’ which has previously been rolled out in countries such as New Zealand and South Africa. We are excited to give Australians the opportunity to engage in the program and look forward to sharing more details of what customers can expect closer to the launch date

The New Zealand ‘Little Garden’ collectable series featured 24 different seedlings to collect – including a rare and hard to get seedling, similar to the rare Simba that featured in the current Lion King Ooshies collection.

Given the concerns raised about the plastic waste with previous collectables, it’s nice to know that the Discovery Garden Seedling collectables will come in their own biodegradable pot.

What do you think? Are you excited about the Discovery Garden Collectables?
