Easy Slow Cooker Mild Chicken Curry

On cold, wet and rainy days, I always find myself craving something warm and nourishing.

My husband is not a huge fan of soup (and neither are the kids), and I haven't managed to convert him in all our years together. So I often have to find something else that is kid friendly and toddler approved to warm us up on a cold night.

This Quick and Easy Mild Chicken Curry is a new recipe for us, but it is honestly one of the best homemade curries that I have had.

The secret - it is actually a pre-made slow cooker sauce, that really DOES taste amazing. I am always sceptical, but after Uber Eats has been given such a huge workout in our house recently that I had to do something (Anything!) to ensure we ate better from now on.

Now usually I cant stomach a pre-made sauce. I can taste them a mile off, and the list of thickeners and artificial ingredients goes for miles. But the list of ingredients on this one isn't so bad, considering the sauce comes from a jar. And I honestly would not have known that it was a sauce from a jar unless I you'd told me, I thought it tasted that good.

The sauce was also mild, no heat to it at all, so the kids liked it just as much as the adults. In fact, it was the first curry I had been able to get them to have - EVER! So with this as a slow indroduction to curries, we might get it back on the menu sometime in the next few years!

I love this as it means I can put the slow cooker on as I leave for work in the morning - it literally is as easy as that.

Its amazing to walk through the door and have dinner done.

1 Brown Onion, Sliced
2 Cloves Garlic, Roughly Chopped

  2. When the onions and garlic are clear and soft add the chicken.
  3. Cook the chicken until browned.
  4. Transfer the chicken, garlic and onions to the slow cooker.
  5. Add the Jar of Masterfoods Mild Chicken Curry Sauce and cook on low for 8 hours.

We serve this with some rice and steamed vegetables (as pictured).

You could add vegetables directly to the slow cooker - but we just steamed some at the same time as the rice was cooking.
