Mum Meet Ups
Mums of Brisbane Mum Meet Ups
At Mums of Brisbane, we are on a mission to connect local mums and bring them together. We do this via our Mum Meet ups – held fortnightly across Brisbane.
Mums of Brisbane was started in April 2017 with a mission to connect local mums and help mums alleviate the isolation of motherhood.
How often have you sat at home with the kids, counting down the hours until your partner was coming home, wondering how long before you break?
How often have you sang songs for hours, only to realize it had actually been a matter of minutes?
Motherhood is full on.
Sometimes it is crazy busy, and you have no time to think, it is just one thing after another.
Sometimes it is so quiet and slow you can hear a pin drop, and even though you might be snuggling with your precious bundle, you feel lonely.
I have had three kids, and each time I have been lonely. I read somewhere that in the absence of the village it is mothers that suffer the most, and I agree.
Sometimes all you need is for someone else to be there, with you, in the moment, so you don’t feel so alone.
Maybe you already have an awesome mum crew and you don’t feel lonely.
Maybe you won’t have a mum crew at all, and it can feel so hard to get out and connect.
Our Mum Meet Ups are a Supportive Place
Our mum meet ups are designed to be a safe space where you chat in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.
At Mums of Brisbane, we believe that every mum is just doing her best, and making the best decisions that she can for her family. We don’t hold with judging another mum’s choices, we just live and let live, where possible.
I feel such joy to look around our meet ups and to see mums connecting with each other. Some come together, some come alone, but what I love is that the meet ups are so inclusive. All mums are willing to talk with each other, regardless of whether they know each other or not.
Plus – I am always there and happy to have a chat if you feel overwhelmed or lonely, or just aren’t sure how to break the ice.
How do you find out more about our Mum Meet Ups?
There are a number of ways you can find out about our Mum Meet Ups.
You can get to know some of the mums in our private Facebook group (which you can find here), if you would prefer to connect online instead.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
Katie is the Editor of Mums of Brisbane. She loves reading, sleep and exploring, not necessarily in that order. Most days will find her drinking coffee, trying to keep up with the kids, and praying they will sleep.

She lives with her husband and three children in beautiful Brisbane.
