Maive & Bo – On-Trend Maternity Fashion that does double duty for breastfeeding and beyond!

Chances are, if you have been pregnant or breastfeeding in the last few years that you would have heard of Maive & Bo – the beautifully designed maternity and beyond brand based in Brisbane.

Maive & Bo was started in 2016 by founder Mallory and her husband, Dustin, on the Sunshine Coast after the birth of their first baby. Mallory says:

‘I couldn’t find affordable and stylish maternity + breastfeeding clothing that I could also wear beyond pregnancy. If I was going to have to adapt my wardrobe, I wanted to be able to continue wearing those pieces with no one knowing they were ‘maternity’ clothing’

The brand itself is loved by Mums for its quality, affordability and versatility – a feature often lacking in stylish, good quality maternity clothing. Many Mums are able to continue wearing their Maive & Bo dresses well beyond the pregnancy and breastfeeding stage.

We’ve worked hard to keep the prices as affordable as we can’ Says Mallory, ‘We are passionate about all Mums being able to feel gorgeous in our dresses during pregnancy and beyond!

And Mums who have purchased from them agree – with hundreds of reviews on their website and social media reflecting the value, quality and versatility of the designs:

‘I love the dress. It not only seen me through my first pregnancy and breastfeeding experience. I was also able to wear it when I was no longer pregnant or breastfeeding.’
Courtney B.

‘Had so many comments about it when I wore it. I wore it both while I was pregnant and after I had the baby so it’s really versatile.’
Rebecca J

All of the designs are ‘Mum proof’ with good quality, easy-clean fabrics, great bust coverage AND flattering cuts. There is not too much cleavage or way-too-short skirts here. They are items you can comfortably wear to an event, down to the park, or for school pick up and still feel stylish (yet ready for anything! #Mumlife).

When they recently surveyed their audience they found that many many Mums and more broadly women who purchased from them were not actually pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of purchase, leading them to start The Maive Collection – a collection that mirrors their Maive & Bo offering but is not focused on maternity clothing.

Both brands, Maive & Bo and The Maive Collection are gearing up to launch their Spring collections soon, with new clothing drops every few weeks, released via social media. If you aren’t following them on Instagram – now is the time – so you don’t miss out! You can follow Maive & Bo here and The Maive Collection here.

As above – you can see how versatile these dresses are…

You can also check out the clothing IRL (that’s In Real Life 😊) at their newly opened boutique in Kelvin Grove, Inner North Brisbane. The boutique has its own dedicated car parks and beautiful light and bright space to try the dresses on. Your main problem will be choosing which dresses to take home with you!

Katie’s Review of Maive and Bo

Mallory invited me down to the Maive & Bo boutique in Kelvin Grove to have a look at their clothing range and to have a chat.

I even got a sneak peek at their spring range and I can tell you it is HOT, the Spring dresses will sell out so make sure you are following them via the above links to get notified when they drop.

Now I am not pregnant or breastfeeding at the moment, but I have had 4 children in the last 6 years so I know a thing or two about maternity and breastfeeding clothing. I knew I would be able to have a look at everything and assess its suitability for pregnancy and nursing. Trust me – these dresses are perfect for pregnancy and breastfeeding!

I was so surprised that I was able to wear most of the range, especially the wrap dresses. They had a lovely flattering fit on my (non-pregnant-but-has-had-four-children) figure, and I can see how they would also look amazing on a bump as well. I actually had not been expecting such versatility in a maternity outfit.

I ended up taking 2 dresses home with me AND I have my eye on a few more. You can see a few of the looks I really loved – Since purchasing and wearing them out and about I have had so many compliments and comments.

My verdict?

These are great quality, stylish and comfortable maternity dresses that are made even better by the fact you can wear them after pregnancy and breastfeeding. I feel beautiful when I wear them, and isn’t that you want from an outfit? They are exceptional value especially given their versatility and yet still maintain their quality. I was very impressed – run, don’t walk, into Maive & Bo, it has our tick of approval, that’s for sure.
