Love Ur Body – Women’s boxing and fitness classes in Brisbane

Hello to all you amazing mums. My name is Mariam and I run boxing/fitness classes for women – Love Ur body!

Love ur Body is a women-only boxing/fitness class. It incorporates a mix of cardio, bag work and weight training. All fitness levels are welcome, toddlers and babies are welcome too. A place to meet like-minded supportive women with the same goals. Together let’s get active and achieve our best level of health and wellness.

I am a mum of 3 beautiful children aged 2, 4 and 6 and a half. Right up until a year ago my life was crazy and busy (still is) and all I knew was mum life. I did nothing for me or my health and even though I’m an Exercise Scientist and Personal Trainer. I put it all on hold and had no motivation to exercise.


Love ur Body provides a fantastic workout to women of all ages and fitness levels. The classes provide a balance of cardio and weight training under the guidance of Mariam, who is an experienced Trainer. It is an amazing work out with the comfort of an all-female environment where we were able to work at our own pace and build our stamina each week.

Love Ur Body Fitness was born…

I struggled with postnatal depression after having my second and third baby. I had no motivation to exercise let alone run a fitness class, my self-confidence and fitness level was at an all-time low.

With the encouragement from my husband and my best friend I agreed to push myself and believe in myself, to get fit and start running my fitness classes.  Support is everything! Having someone believe in you, encourage you and push you when you can’t do it for yourself makes all the difference to your wellbeing.


The boxing classes offered invigorating and high strengthening exercises which helped me improve my physical, emotional and mental health. The workouts featured innovative and fun techniques which varied providing a new personal challenge every week. Being a mum of 2 the flexible times of the classes enabled me to incorporate exercise and fitness into my life.

And that’s exactly what I want to do for you! I want to be your support. All I want is for you to get active. I’m not about body image or pushing weight loss, those goals will slowly come but for a start I want to focus on your wellbeing. That means just being active, moving your body and starting to feel good in an environment with like-minded supportive women.

Katie is the Managing Director and Editor of Mums of Brisbane. Most days will find her drinking copious amounts of coffee, cuddling her kids and trying not to step barefoot on lego. Katie lives in Beautiful Brisbane with her husband and four gorgeous children.
